Frequently asked questions

How do I start logging?

Create a child’s profile during onboarding, then use the shortcuts on Home or Quick Log. The editor identifies the child you are recording for. Use the profile photo to switch children.

How do I explore the app with sample records?

After creating a profile, open More → Load Demo Data. The fictional Mia and Theo profiles include infant care, photos, milestones, health history, and preschool records. Open School Demo to explore Theo’s records. Demo Data also lets you remove those sample profiles.

Where are school records?

Open School Records from Home or More. You can keep enrollment and contact details, attendance, learning updates, events, photos, and documents together.

Can another caregiver see my records on their device?

Adie currently stores records locally and does not provide shared accounts or live sync between devices. You can deliberately share exports or summaries using the system share sheet.

Can I back up or restore my journal?

More → Export Data creates JSON or CSV files for selected record categories. These exports do not include attached photos, videos, or documents and cannot currently be imported as a full restore. They are not a complete backup. Your device’s Apple backup settings may include app data; manage those backups through Apple’s device settings. Keep important original photos and documents separately before deleting Adie or replacing a device.

Why did a reminder stop appearing?

Allow Adie notifications in your device’s Settings and check Focus settings. Interval reminders queue up to twelve future occurrences and replenish when you open Adie; open the app regularly for continuing intervals. Delivery is controlled by iOS, and Adie reminders should not be your only safeguard for time-critical care.

How do I delete records?

Delete an entry from its menu or Timeline swipe action and confirm. Delete a whole child’s profile from its profile settings. Deletion cannot be undone through a restore feature. Copies you already exported, shared, or kept in device backups must be managed separately.

Does Adie recommend treatments or medicine doses?

No. Adie records what you enter and shows summaries of your records. Medicine shortcuts prepare a dose for review; they do not determine a safe amount. Always follow your clinician’s instructions and consult your pediatrician about care decisions. In an emergency, contact your local emergency service.
